Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahim is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He is a right handed wicket-keeper and batsman for team Bangladesh. He is one of the most successful players in our National Cricket team.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahim was born on May 09,1988 to Mahbub Habib and Rahima Khatun in Bogra. He is 5.3.” He has a great physique. Between playing cricket, he studied History at Jahangirnagar University. He completed his schooling from from Bogra Zilla School. He completed his MA in 2012. In 2014, he was married to Jannatul Kifayet (brother in law of wife with MAHMUDULLAH)
PLAYING STYLE
Mushfiqur Rahim is a very good wicket-keeper. He is short and very quick behind the stumps, always chuntering away. He is also good at batting as well.
Mushfiqur Rahim is a senior A+ grade cricketer in the team Bangladesh, the most successful wicket-keeper, right handed batsman and former captain of team Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim is a brave batsman and mostly known as a RUN machine for the Bangladesh cricket team. Mashrafee Bin Mortaza speaks very highly of him.
Before playing for the senior National team, he played for under 19 National team of Bangladesh. He represented them in three youth tests and 18 one day youth international in between 2004-2006. He trained at BKSP with Shakib, Tamim at the early age.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
His international debut as a player of Bangladesh national team happened in May 2005, at the age of 16. He played for Bangladesh team against England. In his first innings, he scored 19 and in that match only three players scored two figures. Bangladesh’s total amassed 108 run in that match. Later in 2006, after the u-19 World Cup, he was included in the senior test squad for the first time since the England tour in 2005. He was selected as a specialist batsman with Khaled Mashud. He was also chosen as the wicket-keeper for the series against Sri Lanka.
Rahim was again included in the National squad for the tour Zimbabwe in July 2006. After his debut in international matches, he did not look back. He was taken out of the team for his bad performance in 2007. As a result, he missed two series. He was again called at the Asia Cup in 2008. Since then, he became a regular player in the national squad.

In august 2009, Rahim was appointed Vice Captain for Zimbabwe tour in Bangladesh. Before him Shakib was the Vice Captain but for the injury of Mashrafee, Shakib became captain and Mushfiq became Vice Captain.
Rahim remained Vice Captain for the home test series against India in February 2010. On last day of the first test, he made the fastest century on behalf of team Bangladesh just within 112 balls.
The following year and middle of the next year, Bangladesh Cricket passed a crucial time. In December 2010, Tamim Iqbal replaced Rahim as Vice Captain of team Bangladesh. For the 2011 World Cup, he was included in the 15-member squad. He did not have a memorable performance in that tournament. In August 2011, he got his second century against Zimbabwe but Bangladesh lost that match.
CAPTAINCY CAREER
On September 20 2011, Mushfiq was appointed captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team taking over from Shakib Al Hasan after a disappointing tour of Zimbabwe. Under his captaincy Bangladesh played quite well.
In BPL 2012, he played for DURANTA RAJSHAHI. His performance was very good in the tournament. He was also captain of that team and reached the semifinal in the tournaments. Rahim contributed 234 runs from 11 matches.
In the 2012 ASIA CUP, under his captaincy, Bangladesh reached final in the tournament for the first time. They were defeated by Pakistan. In April 2012, he signed contract with the BCB as am A+ grade cricketer in the team.
On March 11 2013, in the first test against Sri Lanka he set a record. As the first Bangladeshi cricketer, he scored double century, beating the last highest of 190 set by Mohammad Asraful.
On May 8 2013 he announced his resignation from captaincy but a few days later. he said he had made a mistake and on July 3 2013 BCB brought him back as a Captain for the end of the year. Rahim had an outstanding home series against New Zealand in October and in November 2013. The first two tests ended in a draw. The team won all the three ODIs and lost the only T20I match. Bangladesh toured the West Indies in August 2014, where they lost all three ODIs and two test matches. During the first test, Mushfiqur scored 116 in the second innings, picking up his third test century. On September 2014, BCB appointed Mashrafee Mortaza as the ODI captain while Mushfiqur still remained captain in test formats for Bangladesh.
